Jaywing crowned as North's most inspiring space 2017

17 November 2017 / David Wood

The 2017 Inspired Spaces initiative - the search for the most inspiring workplace in the North - concluded with a fantastic party at the super-Scandi HUS bar in Liverpool last night. And guess what… we won!

Following the judging and public vote, which attracted an astonishing 7,500 votes, Jaywing’s Sheffield HQ was revealed as the North’s most inspiring space – and against some very stiff competition too.

To say we are delighted to receive this accolade is an understatement. This has been a project that a team at Jaywing worked on for the best part of two years, from finding the building to working out how to make the best use of the space. It’s been incredible to see how the building has influenced collaboration right across Jaywing, and the impact it has had culturally, from the atmosphere to the way we come together to work and socialise.

So now, in true winner’s speech style, some thanks!

To everyone who voted for us!

Building designers 93ft, who guided us in transforming the derelict Albert Works forgery and factory site into our award winning creative space.

Project architects Cartwright Pickard, who have realised our vision for a modern design hub, all the while guaranteeing the preservation of a collection of Sheffield’s important historic buildings.

And of course, our thanks go to everyone involved in the amazing Inspired Spaces initiative - Prolific North, Active Profile, and headline partners Capital & Centric.
