Earlier this year, Instagram gave a select number of brands the opportunity to trial their new advertising offering, delivering fantastic opportunities to drive awareness and deliver messaging among a millennial audience. For many brands, this move offered the chance to communicate with targets in a fun, imaginative way that previously wasn’t available.
For 7UP, Instagram’s sponsored posts provided a new way for the PepsiCo brand to launch its ‘Up and Coming Originals’ global brand campaign and the chance to showcase its refreshed visual identity.
We worked with 7UP to create a series of images to feature on its Instagram profile as part of the #FeelsGoodToBeYou campaign. The iconic red spot features as an integral part of familiar and feel good retro-styled scenes.
During the four week campaign, the images reached 1.1 million users, leading to a 43-point lift in ad recall, which is seven times higher than the Nielsen norm for online campaigns. Message association also jumped up by two points. It’s no surprise that Instagram Business have selected it as a case study to show the potential of their new ad capabilities.
