Consulting: Business Partnership/Development Manager - Sheffield

Job Title: Business Development Manager

Base:  Sheffield Office

Hours:  Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

Salary:  Up to £40K (depending on experience)

Jaywing is a Marketing Agency with analysis at its heart. We use data science to identify and predict customer behaviours to help improve our clients’ business and make the right customer decisions. We’re pragmatic too, delivering real results in weeks, not years.

We work with clients to develop and drive highly personalised marketing communications, sophisticated attribution models built at individual customer level, plus a wide range of ad hoc analysis and visualisation projects.

We’ve honed our skills and approaches over many years, focusing first on widely available transactional data sourced from customer databases.  In recent years we have developed our own unique tracking technology to harvest similar customer level data from digital ecosystems, creating a holistic view of customer behaviour, better insight, better analysis and more sophisticated and value creating decision making capabilities for our clients.

We work across sectors such as retail, financial services, insurance, travel and leisure, loyalty and legal.  We work hand in hand at boardroom level, creating insights that drive better level strategic and tactical decision making.

Where and how we work

You will be based in our Sheffield office, with occasional trips to our Leeds office (therefore a full, clean driving licence is essential).  You will have the option to work remotely where appropriate.

We are professional without unnecessary formality, and both our people and clients welcome and enjoy this refreshing approach.

The Role

You will show a strong understanding of our strengths and be able to strategically seek out new business opportunities with longevity and of high commercial value.   Working alongside the Commercial Director and marketing team, you will act as the bridge between sales and marketing, turning our fantastic marketing activity and prospect engagement into genuine new business opportunities.

You will be responsible for the ongoing analysis and review of sales prospects that have engaged with our own marketing activity and nurture these contacts to a point at which a clear new business opportunity has been identifitied. At this point, you will engage and support the appropriate specialist within Jaywing to develop and ultimately convert the opportunity.

You will be able to clearly understand and articulate our sophisticated, unique sales propositions and apply these to prospective clients’ challenges and requirements, in order to create and idenftify new business opportunities for the business. You will nurture these propsects/opportunities to a stage where support is required from one of Jaywing’s specialists, and you will then support them in the sales conversion process.

You will be proactive, switched on to the industry, having an ‘always-on’ approach to news and opportunities within our target sectors, continuously looking for the next market development or opportunity, through intelligent and personalised use of our marketing literature, thought-leadership content and sales tools.

You will be excited by the buzz of developing and nurturing opportunities, winning business and be comfortable working towards targets.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn, to grow, to develop personally and professionally, and to succeed as part of a thriving team within one of the largest and most respected Data Science organisations in the UK.
