At Jaywing, AI has always been more than a buzzword, it’s a core part of our DNA. Long before AI dominated headlines, we were using data science to transform our clients' businesses, setting the standard for the next generation of marketing intelligence.
Our journey with AI began in the early days of machine learning, at a time when AI’s potential was first emerging – and we were already pushing the boundaries. Creating smarter, faster, and more effective solutions for our clients. Take a look at Jaywing’s evolution in our timeline, from pioneering prototypes to the advanced AI applications powering our Accelerator Lab today.
1999
Laying the foundations
Jaywing opens as a data consultancy. We introduced data science as one of our core services. The way it worked was simple. We used statistical models to provide critical insights for clients. AI was only just beginning to take shape, but our vision was clear – technology unlocked smarter decision-making.
2005–2010
Advances in Technology and Big Data
As AI evolved, so did we. We continued to use machine learning techniques but increasing the size and scale of our data modelling alongside what the technology enhancements allowed.
2017
Advanced modelling and analytics
We launched Archetype, a no-code deep learning suite powered by advanced mathematical techniques and computing, offering predictive insights with transparency ideal for regulated industries. Pioneering explainability in neural networks before it became standard, we also developed an Attribution model adopted by ASDA, Mazda, and Hermes (now Evri), cementing Jaywing as an AI marketing leader.
2018
First AI model deployed
Our first AI model deployed at Secure Trust Bank, then to predict churn for Virgin Money.
2020
AI Innovation and MMM launch
Used AI in image recognition for a call centre working for Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles. Jaywing's MMM model was launched with Studio Retail.
2021
Use AI to predict repurchase and reduce costs
We built AI models for a fashion retailer to predict repurchase and cut mail costs. We also used deep learning models to augment a customer segmentation for a retailer to drive personalised strategy approaches
2022
Predict next best action with AI to boost revenue
AI used to predict hair salon utilisation and next best action to increase revenue.
2023
AI is business as usual
The emergence of large language models revolutionises how we derive insights and data from unstructured text, sparking experimentation with generative AI solutions. AI becomes integral to measuring creative impacts, earning Jaywing multiple awards.
2024
Comprehend transforms content optimisation
The debut of Comprehend, our powerful AI-driven content optimisation tool. Combining cutting-edge AI technology with innovative strategies, Comprehend exemplifies our commitment to delivering smarter, data-driven solutions for our clients.
